Many of us step out in our career-finest all week long.
Then comes Saturday. Personally, I find myself wanting to cuddle up in some soft sweats and peruse editorials for my next appearance anywhere outside my front door.
Alas, I head to the coffee shop down the street to start the day where I run into disappointment & shame -- all from me, to me. Every girl or woman in line is clad in chic skinnies or high-waisted trousers. An array of to-die-for booties & wedges taunt my sandaled, badly-in-need of a pedicure tootsies. "At least," I tell myself, "you took the time to put on mascara & genetics did you the courtesy of beach-tousling your hair everyday."
To all of you that make the effort to dress for Saturday and NOT Sunday-cuddle-up-on-the-couch-in-the-privacy-of-your-own-home day, my motivation thanks you.
To show my appreciation and admiration, I'm starting a feature called Savvy Saturdays!
Here's how it works:
- Visit the site (how easy, you're already here!), click "Join This Site" on the right side of the homepage & follow the prompts {I will be cross-checking your submissions with "Site Members" so be sure to do this}.
- Cruise around the site posts and have some fun.
- Choose "Contact" in the menu bar & click on the email address in the page that opens.
- This should prompt your mail server. {If not, copy and paste the address into an email composition "To" line.}
- Tell me about yourself: Name; {Age; Occupation; Location: if you choose}; Twitter, FB & Website links.
- Include a photo of yourself {head shots or polaroids}.
- Include 1-3 photos of your style of the week. This could be an outfit {or two or three}, some fantastic meal you made, a home or shop decor favorite OR an original DIY you'd like to share.
- Briefly tell me about your submission:
- Fashion: label(s)/ designer or retailer, inspiration for the ensemble, a bit about your usual styling
- Food: ingredients, favorite place to buy ingredients (grocery mart, farmer's market, independent farmer or market), recipe, inspiration and/or special occasion
- Decor: label(s)/ retailer, era or genre of decor, include words or photos that inspired your home or shop styling
- DIY: I believe this little ditty speaks for itself. If you made it, tell us how & why. Be sure to include links to any instructional or inspiring references (give credit where credit is due).
9. Finally, if you have a cause you'd like to champion, be sure to include a 1-2
sentence description and a link to the charity or activity!
Each week, Monday through Friday, I'll be checking out your submissions to hand-pick one {or more!} feature-worthy gals (or guys) for the following Savvy Saturdays post.
